The Program
While sessions are intensive and rich with the presenters’ insights, our atmosphere is relaxed, with many questions answered and space provided between presentations for further discussion. Since many from the audience are themselves experts in areas of estate jewelry, the breadth of knowledge is increased through the benefit of different perspectives. The goal is to better understand jewelry and the expressions of style and technique.
Typically, the weekend contains nine topics that are carefully chosen with the influence of all participants. We feature jewelers, time periods, style and society and applications of the artisans. Articles from one’s collection may be shared within a related session.
At present, we begin the conference with a reception on Friday night to meet our fellow participants and receive the first presentation. Saturday has a full slate of sessions, with the evening left open to explore the environs or continue conversations. Sunday sessions end mid-day, followed by an optional after-party where collectors can further network.
